Has it really been six months
without you here
is it possible that life 
can go on
that the days continue to pass by
that the rain continues to fall
how is it that these things
can so normally occur
when life as we knew it
stopped
the day you left this Earth
everything I think of
everything I do
every choice I make
is marked with your smiling face
life will never be the same
we were forever changed
that October evening
